Apparently some folks over at DreamField.se either decided to get real creative with some After Effecting, or they’re literally doing Apple’s work for them.

This might totally be fake, and done with running a matte mask through After Effects, but it’s still incredibly impressive. I can think of a ton of useful real-world applications for something like this. via Crunchgear.

9to5 Mac points us toward a recent Blackberry ad which depicts a not-so-subtle metaphor of a blackberry ripping through an Apple.

Wow, did they think of that all on their own? It may not get any more unoriginal than this.

Apple Tablet: Marc Andreessen and Charlie Rose Think It’s Inevitable (VIDEO)

During an incredibly interesting interview between Charlie Rose and serial entrepreneur Marc Andreessen, both of them touch upon the subject of a “scaled up” iPhone. Charlie Rose thinks it’s an inevitable idea, while Andreessen explains that he “would be the first to buy one.”

Specifically around the forty minute mark, the interview shifts towards Amazon’s business model and how the kindle contributes to its growth. Both Rose and Andreessen feel that the kindle is a giant leap in technology and undoubtedly generates a tremendous amount of success for Amazon. However, like the continuous elephant in the room, when competition from Apple is brought up in the form of a “scaled up iPhone” or 7″ touch tablet, Andreessen and Rose seem mesmerized by the topic.

For those that are not aware, Andreessen is the co-founder of Netscape and has successfully sold two companies for over $1 billion each. Aside from currently being the co-founder of social networking site Ning.com, he is also beginning to dabble in venture capital. The interview touches upon many interesting subjects going on today, as well as opinions on Facebook, Twitter, Google and more.

Disney-Pixar Unveils The First Official “UP” Trailer (VIDEO)

During the 43rd Super Bowl, Disney-Pixar showed the first official public trailer for their upcoming animated film UP.

Coming fresh off the heels of Golden Globe winning animated film Wall•E, Disney-Pixar unveiled the trailer for a new movie called UP. The movie is set to be release May 29th, 2009 and will be shown in Disney-Pixar 3D.

Steve Wozniak Sheds Some Light On Steve Jobs’ Health Issues (Video)

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has been making rounds in the media weighing in on Steve Jobs’ medical leave of absence with his own analysis. The latest is a video interview on NBC where he mentions a few crucial elements regarding Apple’s future endeavors, and business model as a whole.

Last week Wozniak explicitly stated how he felt about the entire situation including what the media has done to the ongoing issues with Steve Jobs’ health. “I disagree with the press getting into his private life. Let him communicate the way he wants to communicate to the public…. Leave him alone,” Wozniak said. The below video sheds light on the situation in ways that have been relatively ignored by the press, who (for the most part) have opted to report about mediocre analysis from doctors and pundits who have never treated or met Jobs at all.

The points Wozniak makes about Apple’s product pipeline, and how they have long roadmaps sometimes stretching 1 or 2 years ahead, may be enough to reassure people that whatever products are released over the next 6 months, have been planned for quite a while. They aren’t being rapidly conceived and developed without Jobs’ overseeing vision.

Wozniak goes on to explain how this time away from Apple will give Jobs a chance to clear his mind. Often times minds like his (Jobs’) are able to see things in ways that other people simply aren’t. “Your mind floats,” Wozniak explains. And when your mind floats, a mind like Jobs’ will be able to see into the future and conceptualize wonderful new products for Apple.

In regards to what may seem like topsy-turvy messages being sent by Jobs to the public regarding his condition, Wozniak remains firm in taking the information at face value. If Jobs needs a break, then he deserves a break and we should let him get better. The daily updates regarding Jobs’ health condition and possible ailments based on unfounded analysis by anyone who will talk, written by everyone who is listening, are simply shameful. Speculation won’t die down, and surely Jobs’ letters don’t help alleviate shareholder and investor concerns. But delving into the man’s personal, private life, nearly demanding medical records should never be done, by anyone.

‘Welcome to Macintosh’ DVD Ready For Sale and Official Release

The producers and directors of the cult-movie “Welcome to Macintosh” have happily announced that the movie is ready for official DVD distribution.

“Well, it has been a long time coming, but the DVD is done and off for mass production. Good thing too as we have started to sell it on Film Baby and Amazon!” the team explains.

The film has already been shown at five film festivals as Ars notes, “mixes history, criticism and an unapologetic revelry of all things Apple.” Apple CEO Steve Jobs doesn’t make an appearance, and neither does co-founder Steve Wozniak. Less known figures in Apple culture make an appearance though, like Guy Kawasaki, Mac engineer Andy Hertzfeld, and Ron Wayne, one of the original co-founders of Apple Computer.

Filmbaby is taking orders for the new film, which includes three hours of deleted scenes and extra footage. It’s being sold for $19.84 (wink, wink).

Apple has had tremendous success over the years with their ad campaigns. Through clever marketing they have been able to shape and morph their image into an elite, premium brand. While searching for those perfect takes, some of Apple’s commercials didn’t quite make the cut.

Vista Nightmares

In this commercial, PC guy bangs himself against the wall as he tries to find solutions to his upgrade woes.

In this one, PC guy tries to hide himself from viruses and spyware, while comparing the internet to a dirty public bathroom.

Unaired iChat Commercial

Apple’s marketing angle was to try and get you to, “Express yourself through iChat.”

Unaired Mail Commercial

Boy that interface is smooth and snappy. Look how fast he’s able to compose and read email messages!

Unaired Sherlock3 Commercial

Sherlock was Apple’s “finder” before we had the finder and spotlight. This commercial was targeted at helping people find themselves with “Sherlock 3″ – (Read about Sherlock at Wikipedia).

Developers Quit

PC guy explains that he has a personal message from Steve Jobs telling all developers to “quit” and rest their big brains.

And the grandaddy of them all…

This was never intended to be a commercial that would air on tv. It was unveiled to the crowd at WWDC 2007.

There’s this one as well, but it was too awful to include.

New Apple Commercial Shows Intentions With Going Green

Continuing with their efforts to produce environmentally friendly products, Apple has unveiled a new webpage dedicated to showing off their new notebook’s green innovation. Additionally, a new commercial showcasing the “Greenest family of notebooks” aired tonight.

The new webpage is titled “The new Macbooks. The world’s greenest family of notebooks.” It compliments other efforts by Apple to show off their environmentally friendly approaches towards design.

When we redesigned the new Macbook, our designers and engineers set a goal of making not only the greenest notebook Apple ever produced, but the greenest family of notebooks. So every new Macbook has been built using materials that are highly recyclable and free of many harmful substances present in other computers. Apple engineers also designed the software and hardware to work together, in order to maximize energy efficiency and minimize the carbon footprint of the MacBook. Even the packaging was reconsidered and reduced, so there would be smaller boxes to ship and less material to recycle. The result is exactly what we hoped for: the greenest family of notebooks ever made.

Video: Apple Debuts New iPhone Commercial “Game Changer”

Apple has recently debuted a new ad cleverly titeld “Game Changer” showcasing the iPhone 3G’s ability to run third party applications, and stream video content while you’re on the go.

Following recent commercials released by the company, Game Changer showcases the iPhone using the MLB application, which is available from the App Store. “The ad opens with “So what do you want your iPhone to be today?” It then continues to show off how the MLB.com app turns an iPhone into a “score-checker,” “live pitch updater,” or a “video highlight player.” The ad finishes with: “But any way you cut it, it’s officially a game changer,” Ars explains.

No doubt Apple will continuously push the iPhone as a platform and not just a mobile device. Commercials like this are meant to showcase the iPhone 3G in a light to consumers that they might not have otherwise though of. Previewing applications and showing consumers that they can truly do whatever they want (or whatever they want to pick from what Apple allows), is one of the major points Apple is trying to express while trying to increase iPhone market share.

Leaked Video: Macbook Design Allegedly Shown

A video showing off Apple’s upcoming Macbook case design has been leaked by the same sources that have previously provided images of the top shell and outer casing of the new hardware. The short clip is below.

It’s difficult to determine whether the footage is actually accurate. There are no direct signs of manipulating the video/footage, but the thinness of the main portable body, as well as the bottom panel raise red flags about the video showing a Macbook Air alone.Apple is widely believed to be moving its plastic Macbook line to Aluminum housing, so the video is not a complete long shot.

Apple Inc, will be holding a Special Media Event on Tuesday, October 14th at 10am at the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, California. The invitations read “The spotlight turns to notebooks.”
