The first video is the new 17″ Macbook Pro commercial. As we uploaded the video, we noticed that YouTube has made it even easier to add comments and annotations on the actual video, so we gave that a shot.

We shot the video over at ArsTechnica but the NYTIMES was running it too. The next video is the iPod touch commercial that Apple unveiled back in December of 2008.

The commercial, which can be found on Apple’s website here, takes a clever play on the word fix. By having so many apps to choose from, anybody that’s looking for nearly anything can find an app in the App Store and get their fix. Two examples shown in the commercial are the need to find a cab in the city, or split a bill at a restaurant.

Apple released an alternate iPhone commercial on Sunday titled “Read,” which showcases the iPhone’s ability to read multiple file types.

Because of the diversity in applications in Apple’s App Store, users can render and “read” many file types. Apple’s ‘Get-a-Mac’ campaigns were getting slack for losing focus a while back. Many people believed that Apple had been spending too much efforts on slandering Microsoft and Vista. These two new commercials should breathe some new life into the ‘Get-a-Mac’ campaigns as they make light of PC guy and Mac’s “little differences.”

Unaired iChat Commercial

Apple’s marketing angle was to try and get you to, “Express yourself through iChat.”

Unaired Mail Commercial

Boy that interface is smooth and snappy. Look how fast he’s able to compose and read email messages!

Unaired Sherlock3 Commercial

Sherlock was Apple’s “finder” before we had the finder and spotlight. This commercial was targeted at helping people find themselves with “Sherlock 3″ – (Read about Sherlock at Wikipedia).

Developers Quit

PC guy explains that he has a personal message from Steve Jobs telling all developers to “quit” and rest their big brains.

And the grandaddy of them all…

This was never intended to be a commercial that would air on tv. It was unveiled to the crowd at WWDC 2007.

There’s this one as well, but it was too awful to include.

While not the first time, another iPhone 3G commercial has been banned from ever airing in Britain because of misleading claims about network speed and performance. Back in August the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) of the UK pulled an Apple iPhone 3G add claiming it “over-hyped the Internet capabilities of the smart phone.” Similarly, UK’s ASU has pulled this one as well. Apple UK has defended their commercial by claiming the commercial to be “relative rather than absolute in nature,” while explaining that they had “clearly positioned the content of the ad as a comparison of the new 3G iPhone with its 2G predecessor.”

“Apple also added that “the average viewer was a mobile phone user and would have understood that a device’s performance varied due to several factors.” Plus, they included the disclaimer “network performance will vary by location,” which the company said underlined the potential for performance variations.” (via paidContent.org)

Black Friday Deals Have Begun

MacRumors explains how to sift through the mountain of Black Friday deals and rebates. Apple has not officially begun offering discounted products, though historically not much more than a $100 discount has been given on a few certain models.

MacMall has announced their Black Friday sale which will runs from now until midnight P.T. on Friday, November 28th. Last year’s MacMall sale delivered some of the largest discounts available online. This year, however, MacMall faces stiff competition from BestBuy who is offering a number of $100-$150 instant discounts on Macs. This compares favorably to MacMall which tends to combine both instant discounts and rebates.

This commercial continues to hammer home the concept of the App Store. It’s obvious that Apple wants to make sure everybody understand how revolutionary the app store really is. Understandably, many iPhone or iPod touch owners may not be fully utilizing the app store for all that it’s worth. Either because they aren’t fully aware what applications are available, or they don’t understand the entire concept of the app store.

Similar to the previous commercial Apple released. This one follows the trend of showing consumers how to solve life’s dilemmas, simply by downloading an application from the app store. In this case, ’shazam’ (iTunes link) is in the spotlight.
