Apple will eventually realize that they can have a limited feature intel atom based netbook up to 11in screen retailing at $549. I would advise them against a double sized ipod touch because a real keyboard is the preferred input method. Since a netbook should not be able to handle video editing and should be a companion to the owner's other computing devices, 40GB storage would be plenty. Just build a solid surfing device with no professional capabilities. People who want or need more can buy a notebook. Actually, my only need for a netbook is for traveling. I don't want the worry of dragging a big heavy and expensive laptop around. I would buy such a device from Apple, and I will buy a Linux based netbook this year if apple doesn't release one.
