This is the rumor that will not die. I've developed two successful iPhone apps in the education category. I would be concerned that it would be more difficult to see all the beautiful artwork that I put in the apps if the screen was smaller. The screen looks much smaller in the rumored iPhone nano photos. The art in the preschool pals henry & hailey app has great details such as freckles on the faces, eyelashes, bolts on the robot, nails on the dog's paw. If the screen was smaller some of these amazing details might get lost. I think some consumers would actually prefer a slightly larger iPhone. Especially since there are now more expensive games like SimCity which also has a ton of detailed artwork. Who wants to spend money on apps if they can't see the art?

Plus the keyboard is tough enough as it is now and I have tiny fingers:)

Bleh. I mean, even if it's true, so much would need to be slimmed down from Apple. No GPS? Come on, who wants this. No 3G? I would NOT be the market for this device. At all.
