But this functionality *should* be coming soon (as it already late), so this is not exactly going out on a limb.

I don’t believe Apple has the system functioning how they want before release. Anecdotal evidence for sure, but my experience with the way notifactions are pushed to the iPhone for App Updates has been inconsistent at best. Almost certainly this is the system Apple is using for those updates as a test bed.

FINALLY !!! PLEASE BE TRUE !!!

Messaging apps could really benefit from this. I ams constantly chatting with people then I put the phone down and I would LOVE to get a little vibration or bell notification when I get a new message.
