Apparently an unauthorized reseller is marketing a 32GB unlocked iPhone only a few blocks away from Apple’s flagship NYC retail store.
As you can imagine, the reseller is clearly mistaken and the 32GB “unlocked” iPhone being displayed is false. The reseller happens to be only a few blocks from Apple’s flagship retail store in NYC, so if anybody can spot this out, it may not hurt to drag an Apple employee over to the shop and say “See! It does exist!”

MacBlogz has previously received an anonymous tip pointing to Macworld ‘09 as the release date for a 32GB iPhone. “That rumored red iPhone… It’s not happening. The only iPhone news I know for certain is that it’s getting bumped to 32GB in January,” the tipster explains.

Sick. Absolutely sick. I really hope nobody picked one of these up. That would be a nightmare.

hahha, look at the reflection in the iPhone 3G for sale, it’s a reflection of a first generation iPhone !

Resellers are so dumb sometimes. 90 seconds of research, or one phone call could have set this guy straight. But then again, he’s probably trying to whole heartedly rip people off.

I’m actually waiting for a 32GB iPhone to make the plunge.

@yyy: Hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer.

Me too. Hopefully, January 9th will be the day..
I live in NY and you can tell by the cheesy sign that this is from one of those tourist trap shops. They obviously don’t even know the difference between an iPod Touch and an iPhone..

These signs certainly do look cheesy, like they couldn’t afford to get some real signs printed, and opted for the hand painted look. Or maybe they just took a calligraphy class and wanted a bit more practice. Either way lets keep our fingers crossed.

these street vendor sellers are just ridiculous. it’s a first gen iPhone being sold too. Not an iPhone 3G as he has written in the ad. sheesh.

iphone for verizon possibly?

Highly doubt it Alex. Apple has a pretty exclusive and lucrative partnership with AT&T. Plus, a second CDMA version iPhone would need to be developed. But, it never hurts to dream!
