Product (RED) iPhone Could Help Drive Holiday Sales

A PRODUCT (RED) iPhone may be exactly what Apple needs to boost holiday sales and increase interest in the company’s products. While unlikely, a surprise release of the RED iPhone by Apple would be a welcome treat by many.

Our friends over at iPhone Savior have reintroduced speculation regarding the heavily rumored (PRODUCT) RED iPhone. The rumor has been around for over a year, however back in July, rumors about the RED iPhone spread like wildfire, again.

With analyst Piper Jaffray expecting a decline of 8 percent in iPhone sales over the holiday season, iPhone red could be exactly the kind of lift Apple needs to keep demand high in the minds of consumers poised to hold back this year.

iPhoneSavior continues to explain that a rumor a few months back pegged Black Friday as a release date for the RED iPhone. “Is it possible that iPhone red could still be part of Apple’s much anticipated aggressive Black Friday discounts? Though we’ve not abandoned all hope just yet, the probability of iPhone red making a day after Thanksgiving appearance is unlikely.” Agreed, even though a new colored iPhone wouldn’t exactly be a new product, chances are that Apple will not introduce anything brand new on such an aggressively competitive shopping day.

Interestingly, on November 2nd, MacBlogz received an anonymous tip regarding the iPhone’s storage capacity. Thrown in with the information we received, the anonymous tipster discredited the RED iPhone rumor, explaining that it was not going to happen.

“That rumored red iPhone… It’s not happening. The only iPhone news I know for certain is that it’s getting bumped to 32GB in January.”

Between November 27th and January 2nd, 2008 Starbucks will be joining Bono in support of PRODUCT (RED). Five cents from the sale of any Starbucks (RED) beverage will benefit the Global Fund to invest in AIDS programs in Africa. Interestingly, Apple and U2 have worked together before in releasing an exclusive U2 iPod, and Apple and Starbucks have a long standing relationship providing each other’s customers added perks, especially with AT&T thrown into the mix. The added buzz and increased excitement an exclusive product like this would create might be just what Apple needs during these tough times.

I think it would definitely add a little holiday perk to the lineup. If anything, they would make extremely coveted stocking stuffers. So many people swoon over these exclusive Apple products… myself included ;)

I’d buy one for my daughter who’s been asking for a pink/red iPhone for roughly 16 months.

starting to think? a lot of the information that we here needs to be taken lightly. as good as some sources are, a lot are just bullshit and speculation. the red iphone rumor has been around for soooo long.

so for everyone, that have immersed themselves recently about a red iphone will be disappointed once black friday comes along. the rumors about a 32GB iphone are correct and will be featured late december early january. there has been talk about a red iphone, but was quickly ended, yet still led to a stir amongst the online community.

Black Friday deals that will exist are:
Apple Bluetooth headset with a sales price of $108 ($21 savings)
20 inch and 24 inch iMacs at $1,799 ($101 savings)
31 rebate on all iPod Classic and free engraving.

there will be more available, and for all offers check the apple store site exactly at midnight on the 28th. between 11pm and 12am the apple store will be extremely slow and sluggish, because of changes to the site occuring as we try to upload all the pages.

hope this was helpful for the masses.
