A problem on Apple’s website is preventing people from registering for the Insmonia Film Festival. Apple has acknowledged the issue and is working on resolving it.
A recent comment thread here on MacBlogz has caught our attention. While people are trying to register their teams for the Insomnia Film Festival. The problem it seems is that Apple has an infinite loop redirecting users to the wrong page when they attempt to register. To recreate the issue and see why users are getting frustrated, simply visit this page, and click “Register Now.” You’ll see that the link continuously takes you to http://www.insomnia.apple.com, instead of allowing the registration.
MacBlogz reader cj has contacted Apple and explains that they have acknowledged the issue and are working to resolve it.: “when i contacted apple, I found out it was a large issue and they are working on fixing it,” cj explains.
Although the issue may seem like a minor one, many teams are not able to officially enter the contest, and are demanding that Apple extend the registration deadline. For the actual contest, you can find a list of the required film elements here. They are currently blank, however when the clock starts ticking you will have 24 hours to pick three and begin producing your movie. The only problem is that people are not able to register. Let’s hope Apple can hurry up and get this resolved. The clock starts ticking on November 15 at 9:00 am EST.

i’ve been getting ready for this, making plans and securing dates for this project for a few weeks and to hear that it’s pushed back makes me a little bit angry. i heard apple had problems last year too and so you’d think they’d work out the kinks this year,

I am with Hana, my group has been working all week to get everything booked to shoot, and now we have to cancel all our plans, this is such BS!

for apple to announce a month-long or more postponement right before the insomnia festival begins is grossly unfair to student filmmakers, who are the young creative types that drive the apple brand itself. being on one of the filmmaking teams, this comes as a huge disappointment with everything that has been done in preparation for this event and all the people involved. i’m normally very enthusiastic towards the apple company, but today they’ve hit a new low by causing such a catastrophe.
