Apple Unveils New ‘Shazam’ iPhone Ad In ‘Dilemmas’ Series

Apple has released another new iPhone commercial titled ‘Shazam.’ In the new commercial Apple showcases how the App Store can be used to download applications, and solve life’s dilemmas.

This commercial continues to hammer home the concept of the App Store. It’s obvious that Apple wants to make sure everybody understand how revolutionary the app store really is. Understandably, many iPhone or iPod touch owners may not be fully utilizing the app store for all that it’s worth. Either because they aren’t fully aware what applications are available, or they don’t understand the entire concept of the app store.

Similar to the previous commercial Apple released. This one follows the trend of showing consumers how to solve life’s dilemmas, simply by downloading an application from the app store. In this case, ’shazam’ (iTunes link) is in the spotlight.

You can view the commercial on Apple’s website here.

You’d have to be extremely quick on your feet to grab your iPhone, and then fire up the “Shazam” app while the song of interest was still playing, assuming you couldn’t replay the song. I usually don’t have my phone exactly where I’m listening to music, and I’m probably not coordinated enough to use Shazam. But then, I’m probably too old to be the target audience for this app.

Shazam works, it’s kinda neat… but i agree with jake, song ID apps aren’t all that useful in real-world situations.

and i’m surprised Apple would feature a commercial with such an ugly app…
