Photos: Macbook Pro (Late ‘08) Compared to Previous Gen Macbook Pro

We recently posted our unboxing and first impressions of Apple’s new 15″ Macbook Pro. After putting the machine through its paces for nearly 48 hours, and reviewing some benchmarks, we took some comparison photos between the new Macbook Pro (unibody) and the most recent Macbook Pro available before the Late ‘08 model was released. Enjoy.

It’s just crazy how much sturdier it looks

In my opinion, Apple has nailed it with industrial design and aesthetic with these things.

John’s talking about not upgrading to this new MBP because of the lack of funtion+ “key number” commands (numeric input) being supported. Can anyone confirm that it’s totally not supported anymore?

I don’t care what everyone else has to say. These are going to sell sell sell. They’re good looking and pack the power punch todo the work. I just bought one and can’t wait to start working with it.

I love the new notebook, but I was waiting for the 17-inch one, hopefully they’ll come up with it soon =)

Well ,looks like everybody is fawning over the outer shell like stupid highschool geeks over a ditzy prom queen. I admit it looks good from the outside. But open it up and it practically is macbook. Can´t tell the two apart. And what´s witht he freaking glossy screen, huh? I am a guy who works on the run A LOT. What I really enjoyed about my Powerbook was the crisp screen and that everybody of my customers gathered around could see everything. That´d be history now. And honestly folks, would you pay big bucks for a BMW 7 that looks like a BMW 3 ??? I don´t think so. I don´t want a “Pro” machine that looks like the frilly little brother. I want to show of with my gear. The older silver keyboard has a really nice and expensive feel to it. While I like the klickfeel of the new boards, it looks just the same as in the crappy macbooks and doesnt distinguish pro from consumer. Part of why I was ready to spend big bucks was because I got a sleek, powerfull, pro looking powerhouse ready for work. I gave the new MBP a testrun at the local store and while the performance is flawless and it looks good from outside, I HATE it as soon as I open it and have to look at that darn glossy screen. Working in a brightly lit store was a pain in *§§ allready.

I rather buy one of the last gen and wait for a better redesign or I´ll switch!!! To DELL !!!!!! And Ubuntu.
