Clint Ecker from Ars Technica provides the first hands-on coverage of Apple’s new Macbook Pro.
“First, the battery cover is now removed with a latch instead of the old rotational lock that required a coin to turn. Secondly, the Kensington lock port, when activated, will also lock this latch and keep anyone from stealing your battery, and more importantly your removable hard drive,” Ecker explains.

“To replace you simple pull the tab, pop out the existing hard drive and pop in a new one… To replace the memory in the unit, you do not have to remove the hard drive or the battery (although I believe removing the battery is a good move). Replacing the memory now requires that you remove four screws immediately above the battery.”

So, when my laptop isn’t locked to another object with a ‘Kensington’ lock, anybody can just pop my HD out?
