Engadget has posted last minute leaked photos of Apple’s upcoming Macbook Pro. Aside from an updated keyboard, magnetic closure and the absence of trackpad buttons, Engadget claims their source explains the machine as having two full on NVIDIA GPUs.

Aside from the absence of a front loading dual drive, the new images look similar to what was seen coming out of a German reseller around mid-September. The new leaked photos also corroborate with the latest round of leaked images, which are of higher resolution, revealing far more information about the upcoming notebooks.
Some specs taken from the leaked images:
• Metal and glass enclosures
• Firewire 400 is gone
• New video-out connector (more compact than MicroDVI)
• Two NVIDIA GPUs inside

Engadget explains “they [their source] say the MacBook and 17-inch MacBook Pro aren’t getting refreshed tomorrow, which we find hard to believe, but we’ll see when we see.” We definitely find it hard to believe that the only notebook being addressed tomorrow will be the 15″ Macbook Pro. Previously leaked case images have shown two cases, one with speakers and one without (presumably the Macbook and Macbook Pro). Additionally, analysts went on record today claiming new information regarding a sub-$1,000 notebook being all but official.

Definitely a good point.

You’re totally right. That’s scary that Engadget wouldn’t mention that or acknowledge that. I think it’s pretty clear evidence that these photos should be somewhat taken lightly. Their should definitely be a disclaimer on Engadget’s site.
