
October 14th has officially been pegged by Apple for a new media event. An invitation has been sent out with the tagline “the spotlight turns to notebooks.” Although the date and event are now a go, some remains still remain about exactly which notebook models are getting udpate/upgrade and what each update will contain.

Fring offers a mobile service that enables free calls between its users. Once you’re using Fring, your normal coverage plan can be bypassed, and for that reason, its presence in the App Store is a rather big deal. Additionally, the game “shaker” has been pulled from the app store for being too similar to Tetris. But, on the brighter side of things, a “killer” South Park app is coming to the app store very soon.

According the marketing research and industry tracking NPD Group, Apple’s iPhone 3G has now climbed the ranks and snagged 17% of the US Smartphone market, and independent research points to Apple having reached its goal of selling 10 Million iPhones three months early.

Apple is suing a Canadian technology school, which happens to use and love Apple products for logo/trademark infringement. The school’s logo resembles Apple’s rather closely, however because it is not involved in sales, many believe Apple’s allegations are unfounded.

Nine years after receiving the original patent filing, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has finally awarded Apple Inc, and inventor Steven P. Jobs the patent for the OS X Dock.

If you have paid in the past to get this problem fixed, Apple will issue you a refund. If you own a MacBook Pro that was manufactured between May 2007 and September 2007 and have poor quality (scrambled) video, or worse yet, no video at all….It is safe to say you’re taking a trip to the local Apple store for a little TLC.

Apple has launched the “Field Trip to the Apple Store” program. Further expanding their education initiatives and focusing on introducing younger children to technology, and its family of products. Apple is inviting educators to schedule an “Apple Store” field trip, prior to the holiday shopping season.
