Various rumors and pieces of information that have surfaced over the past few months, allow us to speculate that we can expect certain features and enhancements to Apple’s upcoming notebooks. While Apple does a great job at listening to its customer base, not all of our wishes will be granted. So here’s your chance to let the world know exactly what you want to see.

Tuesday, October 14th has been pegged as the date for Apple to release the new notebooks, with most of the community labeling it as a “Macbook Media Event.”
• Apple is expected to host a Macbook Media Event on October 14th to unveil the new notebook(s)
• The Brick is one piece of aluminum. Apple has perhaps revolutionized their manufacturing process which means your next notebook may be sculpted out of one piece of high grade, aircraft quality aluminum (with 3D lasers and water jets).
• The new Macbook Pro keyboard will draw inspiration from the Macbook Air: Confirmed
• Apparently the new notebooks have already been spotted, and the ports have been reconfigured
• NVIDIA chipsets are rumored to have been chosen by Apple
• Citing “field checks” LED Displays and Aluminum enclosures were once again “confirmed”
• A false report of an imminent Macbook Air upgrade came and went
• Alleged Case photos from a Chinese supply line were leaked and then confirmed, and then even more alleged case photos were leaked
• Vast speculation regarding a long-shot “glass trackpad” in the upcoming Macbook
• Back in May reports briefly appeared about Intel confirming an Apple tablet
• And here’s a list of the top 8 reasons Apple’s upcoming notebook line will blow our minds
As you can see, there hasn’t especially been a shortage of rumors or speculation over the past few months. Apple rumors have become semi mainstream these days and product launches generally create big buzz and excitement throughout the entire tech industry, not only the Apple faithful. This next phase of product releases will usher in major innovation from Apple. Not only has the exterior case on the Macbook Pro been left relatively untouched for over 4 years, but the Macbook needs to lose its plastic casing before Greenpeace sues again. Not to mention the widening price gaps and functionality that is missing from Apple’s notebooks at the moment.
Let us know exactly what you would like to see Cupertino unveil next week by sounding off in the comments below.

I’ll start: I’d like to see a built to order SSD option at least in the Macbook Pro, if not across the board.

I would like to see a max’ed out MacBook Pro with a 17″ hi-res LED screen and a SteveJobs Golden Ticket in the mail to get the first one off the line for free.

If Apple is successful in what has been described in the post it will take a lot of time for others to catch up. Even if Apple’s profit is hit by this exercise they should go in for it for it will establish their supremacy in this sector.

I want to see an introduction of a computer that even comes close to the 12″ powerbook. Tiny, but had SO MUCH POWER !!!

1) Solid State Drive that moves OS X over to it after boot, seemlessly for subsequent ‘lightning fast’ boot times, as we loading the existing running apps in memory. Only if power drains or some new app is launched do you need to goto the physical hard drive.
2) More focus on cooling the laptops as they are bloody hot on the lap.
3) A ‘custom’ OS X Virtuam Machine that only runs on Apple hardware, VMWare/Paralleles or Apple create the software for this purpose to allow user to test/learn that sometimes crashes, but allows for rapid reload versus lengthy reinstalls of the OS to a hard drive.
4) Find a way to pump music between the keys, or something in order to allow for a numeric keypad that isn’t imbedded in the qwerty layout.
5) LED keyboard that can have key layouts programmed into the key themselfs (and back list too)
this could be re-programmed for games
