Let me just pick on one point:

“Rumors that Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be released at MacWorld 2009 have been around for a while.”

Where? Apple themselves said that Snow Leopard would be released “about a year” after it was first announced in June 2008. Anyone who thinks Apple is going to suddenly ship a new operating system revision five months or more ahead of schedule simply hasn’t been paying attention to the industry for, oh, I don’t know, about twenty-five years.

“Snow Leopard will need hardware to take advantage of all of its performance capabilities, and Apple’s upcoming notebook line should support some, or most of Snow Leopard’s future OS enhancements.”

As will most other recent hardware releases (hint: multi-processor CPUs). I wouldn’t get my panties in a bunch about this one.

You are definitely not alone. I personally know a lot of people who have been wishing for something like this for over two years.

Apple is usually pretty good at listening to the customer base. I wouldn’t completely rule this one out Herchu.

I feel lonely. Am I the only one that don’t want new laptops but a cheap, powerful Mac Mini or something equivalent? I really hope that Apple realize that in crisis times a good and affordable entry level product would be very welcome.

If they dont come out with new line of notebooks on 14th I would be very upset! I just sold my macbook! And i terribly need something new!!! hoping on getting the new macbook pro!

I really hope it’s the 14th. I’ve been waiting for a new Macbook Pro for over a year. I waited for months before the last one was “speedbumped.” I know that we’re thinking Macbook on the 14th, but I hope the MBP gets addressed some what.
