According to AppleInsider.com, Apple is believed to have tapped iPhone reseller and the largest independent European mobile phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse, to help push sales of Mac computers in the United Kingdom.
Information leaked from those closest to the retailer claim that a large amount of Mac-related placeholders have turned up in the company’s inventory system (see pictures below), indicating a plan is in place to begin selling Mac computers and computer accessories in-store.
Among the rumored items soon to be in stock: MacBooks, MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros, Apple power adaptors, MacBook replacement batteries, MacBook Air Super Drives, Time Capsules, AirPorts, Airport Exteme cards, the Mighty Mouse (who can live without it?), Mobile Me, Mac minis and 20- and 24-inch iMac desktop systems. (Say that ten times fast)
With Carphone Warehouse currently in a market share battle with rival PC World over the PC sales, the addition of Mac products would be a huge bonus for the retailer. And Apple is not the only US company to benefit. Big box store Best Buy recently invested some of their hard earned technology cash into the retailer across the pond and together the two stores are said to be prepping a series of new locations in Europe that will stock everything from gaming consoles and computers to big screen HDTVs. It is reported that over time, Carphone Warehouse plans to expand its current 1,700 stores with the addition of 800 stores in the UK that will carry its new electronic range of consoles and TVs.
With Apple boasting over 9,500 Mac distribution points up from 7,700 a year earlier, these products could inevitably turn up in 800 Carphone Warehouse locations in the months and years to come, boosting Mac retail representation up 8%.

I don’t think this would be a bad idea. I mean, if Apple is getting along with their partners, the relationship should be furthered. It makes sense.
After all, Steve Jobs said that one of the things he could’ve done better with Apple was partner with people. Looks like this is alllll changing.

Meeer: I totally agree with you. Apple is finally realizing that they might not be able to reach their goals without partnerships (and subsequent support) from other companies.
