Apple has released Apple TV update 2.2. The update is available through your Apple TV by navigating to the “Update Software” section. With the update, users can now purchase HD TV shows directly on the device, as well as create Genius and on-the-go playlists.
Back on September 16th, MacBlogz reported that this update was indeed coming and that users should expect this functionality. After nearly two weeks, Apple has delivered the update and it seems as though our sources were right.
The Apple TV 2.2 update also addresses various security issues.
