Last Friday Apple Inc, issued a Media Alert stating that it was replacing faulty electrical adapters due to the possibility of an electric shock. Today that have sent out an SMS message to most users announcing and explaining the recall and exchange program.
Apple continued to explain that “Users with ultracompact power adapters should immediately stop using them until they exchange them for a new, redesigned ultracompact adapter.” If you currently own a faulty adapter you can order a new one via this online support form, or go into any Apple Retail Store after October 10th.

Having a cellular network like AT&T’s benefits Apple for precisely reasons such as these… Communication. Not many other tech companies have a direct line of communication (to their customer’s handsets), after they’ve been purchased. Apple issued the Media Alert last week, and this week they have sent out these SMS messages. If you currently own a possibly faulty electrical adapter, Apple wants to make sure you know about the exchange program.
