Will all the hoop-la going around regarding what many deem “unfair rulings” in the Apple App Store application process (say that ten times fast), there is at least one lone coder out there raking in the dough, and thanking Apple for his 15 minutes of fame.
Steve Demeter, the developer for the iPhone/iPod game Trism, reportedly has made $250,000 in the two months since the game was released. The idea is simple, and appears to hold addictive qualities similar to the likes of Tetris, featuring colorful, geometric shapes. Mindless, archaic….we love it.
With a modest game like Trism, Demeter can potentially rake in $1.5 million within the year…Given that sales of the $5/download application keep up their pace.
In the face of an unethical App Store approval process and developer rejection and communication horror stories, it’s nice to see some positive news shed on the development world. Congrats Steve! Keep it up!
Check out Trism’s product page, and then check it out on iTunes.
