Among other new iTunes 8 features, Apple has included a nifty new Visualizer that will create beautiful, spacy and trippy visualizations while you play your music.
The below video is a 4 song compilation demo of the new iTunes 8 visualizer. Artists used are Oysterhead, Mos Def and Amy Winehouse (in that order). Because the magnetosphere visualizer responds to different audio frequency and tone, songs with minimal dynamic range will not display as tremendous of visual effects as those with a wide spectrum of tones.
Before Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the new visualizer, there were rumors that a magnetosphere plugin had been bought by Apple for use in iTunes 8. The below video is what was circulating around the internet prior to Apple’s official announcement.
