On Monday, Apple filed a trademark applications for “Cocoa Touch”, the software toolset that was publicly unveiled at WWDC ‘08 in June.
Cocoa Touch allow 3rd party developers to access the iPhone and iPod Touch’s revolutionary Multi-Touch and accelerometer features included in the iPhone SDK Beta Version 2.0 released in March.
Apple has filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office under International Class 009 in the United States, requesting a trademark for the Cocoa Touch’s programming, data recovery, and data analysis. According to MacNN, application #77558260 asserts a “claim of priority” over an earlier application filed March 6th in Trinidad and Tobago under International Classifications 038 and 042, covering “services, scientific, research, design and telecommunications.”
