With over one million 3G iPhone’s on the streets (thus far) is it no wonder that accessory manufacturers are scrambling to produce products to go hand-in-hand with our favorite, newest toy.

Most recently, Mobile Fun, a UK based company, has announced its plans to release a Solar-Powered Case for all your enviro-loving-3G-yappers out there. Not only does the device protect your phone, it is encased in a solar panel that will charge your device in rain, sleet, sunshine, or snow. Not only that, but the case/device includes a high-capacity 1500mAh battery that will store energy until you need it. And with the iPhones low battery life, it could end up being multiple times a day! The device also includes a mini USB to USB cable, allowing it to charge any other small device with a USB port.
Unfortunately for those of you here on the mainland, Mobile Fun will not be shipping to the United States in the near future, but will be releasing black and white versions mid-August in the U.K.

Is a very cool idea to charge our gadgets from a clean source but this product fails.
I got one of those from solararcadia.com and is totally dead after the first charge. I’m trying to contact them with no success.
If you google it you will find other comments about the same issue.

Thank you for sharing your first hand experience with us. If this is indeed the case with every iPhone solar powering device, we hope that other users heed your warning, and purchase with caution.
