Yesterday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple’s trademark application for its System Preferences logo.

The filing (#77535337) is a TEAS Plus Application under class 009 (computer Software for managing user system settings and preferences). The logo, used in all recent versions of Apple computer dock’s in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, is shown below in its simplified representation and in its actual form.
Previously, Macnn reported that “On August 6, 2008, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple’s latest trademark filing 77535337 for their current System Preferences logo. The TEAS Plus Application was filed under International Class 009 which covers “Computer software for managing user system settings and preferences.” The actual logo being trademarked is presented below juxtaposed to Apple’s provided specimen of usage.
