Apple’s retail sector is at it again as the Harbor City prepares for a second Apple store opening.
Less than one month after the opening of the Australian flagship store, Apple has announced plans to open yet another Apple store in Sydney. Set for a Saturday morning opening, the Chatsworth Chase addition will be celebrated with the usual Apple flare of free t-shirts for the first 1,000 guests.
This location will be a full-service Apple store complete with a Genius Bar, workshops, youth programs and business services. The debut of another Sydney store, as well as a Melbourne store currently under construction, comes as a good indication that Apple’s retail arm is going strong. Following last month’s Q3 earnings call, execs noted that Mac sales at Apple stores had increased 33% year-over-year. The Cupertino company predicts to have 242 stores open and operational by the end of the calendar year, a jump from 216 in June.
