It’s hard enough for those of us stateside to swallow the fact that the U.K.’s O2 is giving the new 3G iPhone away for FREE (*as long as you sign up for their $89 plan), but now the British cell phone service provider is offering pre-order options on their website that include- get this- delivery to your very own house on the 11th. But don’t worry, those Brits know a good thing when they see it, as so many people have taken advantage of the offer that now O2 is saying that “due to the huge demand for the iPhone 3G, it’s currently out of stock online.” One can only assume that they haven’t run out of all their physical inventory, as a note on the page instructs droolers to come back on July 10th for more information.
According to O2’s fine print, the taking of delivery of the iPhone in the U.K. requires at least an 18-month contract, a credit check, direct debit…and the sacrificing of their first born. One thing is for sure… While I am waiting in line (or queue as the Brit say) at 4 in the morning, those in the U.K. will be wagering whether the next time the doorbell rings, it is the pizza delivery guy or their spanking brand new iPhone 3G.

Fair enough your Steve driving at O2 truck rocks, but this isn’t new. O2 managed to put it up and then sell out before you noticed. However, the graphic makes up for it. I’ll be at home on Friday waiting for my delivery. Have fun in your queue.

We knew they sold out. It’s the home delivery that we weren’t aware of.

Fair enough.
YEah, it’s actually nice to not have to go and queue… Since it’ll most likely be raining. Also, activating at home.

Man… You guys are getting really hooked up for this product. Granted, the excitement here in the states (going out and waiting in line, hanging with all the other local Apple fans) is grand… Something about being able to sit at home while a delivery truck drops off my guaranteed iPhone 3G makes me WANT, WANT, WANT that service here in the states.

Ah, now guaranteed it’s not. The ordering process has been a bit of a farce to be perfectly honest, and those of us lucky enough to be able to complete the ordering process (Due to the huge demand a lot were not able to) will not find out until today/tomorrow if we’ve actually got one guaranteed.

Well i hope my iphone is guaranteed, i’ve got my order confirmation and i have had the money taken from my account. Otherwise i will be really unhappy.
Any1 happen to know what time i could expect it to arrive? Basically if demand is as high as they say, and the numbers of actual units are true, the delivery guys will have a hell of a time delivering them aswell as any other phones ordered in their normal delivery times (9 till 5:30)

According to O2/DHL any time between 7.30am and 9pm.
It’s going to be a long day. Can’t wait.
