Introducing the Completely FREE iPhone 3G!

jobs mental game

Forget about the $1 iPhone, and put to rest any lingering speculation regarding the iPhone’s super-star popularity overseas. Following Steve Jobs announcement of iPhone 3G (for a mere $199 worldwide) everyone and their mother knew it would sell well. But no one knew exactly how well.

According to the United Kingdom’s Telegraph, last fall, in the three months between the iPhone being announced and released, the UK recorded 35,000 people signed up to request more information on the phone from UK iPhone partner O2.  Unfortunately for them, not one out of the 6 million iPhones sold, was intended to leave the US.

Now, it turns out, since Jobs reintroduced the iPhone as the latest in jet setters, planning to make an appearance in roughly 79 countries (click here to see our continuously updated map), the UK’s O2 has received requests from more than 130,000 people interested in obtaining the device.

Unlike the gatekeepers here in the US (AT&T), the UK’s gabbers and techies will have the option of obtaining the iPhone, for FREE(!), by merely signing up for select premium phone plans offered by O2. That’s right…They are GIVING them away. Ya know…just like when you buy a Happy Meal at McDonalds and you get a free toy? Ok, maybe it’s not quite the same thing.
