Fortune reports that the tiny country of Luxembourg, with a total population of about 480,000 people, is now in line to receive the iPhone 3G. According to the Luxemburger Wort, VOXmobile, a subsidiary of Orange, will be the iPhone’s carrier.
While Steve Jobs had officially announced at the WWDC that Apple has sealed international deals in a total of 70 countries, they have been hard at work this week adding not only Luxembourg, but also The Netherlands, Panama, Qatar and Venezuela bringing the country count to 75.
Additionally, Jobs mentions that negotiations in China and Russia weren’t “closed/finished” during his CNBC interview this past Monday, which makes the carrier choice in both countries still speculative.
