According to a client report on Thursday by American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu,
He goes on to state that an unveiling at next week’s WWDC isn’t entirely likely explaining that “exact timing of production isn’t clear.” But that he believes, “it is inevitable that Apple will bring more touchscreen devices to market” that will further the use of the patented multi-touch technology used in current iPod and iPhones.
What Wu isn’t unsure about is Apple’s iPhone related announcements at WWDC. He claims that supply chain sources hint at the much anticipated 3G iPhone to be priced around $399 to $499, in addition to a revised 2.5G version that will sell below today’s $399 introductory price.
With Wu claiming Apple is focusing more on driving volume compared with their tactics a year ago, “raising the possibilities of carrier subsidies.” The report also states that “in terms of features, we are picking up on an improved virtual keyboard with haptics giving it a more tactile feel, GPS and improved location services, and thinner and logier casing that is more durable and inexpensive to produce.” (GPS? Contradicting prior rumors and reports that GPS would be left out of this upcoming release.)
Report summary:
-No new Mac systems slated to be released at WWDC
-AmTech sets AAPL at a BUY…with a $220 price target
One Comment to “Multi-touch device, 3G Coverage, and 2.5G iPhones….Oh my!”
They should make a touch screen iMac, I’d pick one of those up.
