Another thing: this was tagged under ‘Rumor mill’? This can’t be considered as a rumor. This is a concept not a rumor.

Prepare to get your mind blown? Give me a break.

And what the hell is Firefox doing in supposed Apple product?

I don’t think they are trying to let you into a secretive rumor…It clearly is a visualization of a concept…and a good one at that.

PETER !!! EXACTLY !!!!!! Who would ever consider this as a serious rumor ? How can you get so literal on a concept. I think it’s fucking awesome.

JIM OF D. You should watch it again with an open mind. If this was on shelves right now, I’d probably have 4 of them.

Jim of D,

While this post was tagged Rumor. It was done so under the implications that over the past several years, an Apple branded TV set has been a rumored device. This particular concept video is exactly that… A Concept…And one that we feel everyone can enjoy.

Well!… Let me repeat my self. I´ve forseen this in over two years now. It´s invetable! Apple will sometime down the road make this happen. Rather sooner than later I hope. I would be sad to see Microsoft, DELL, Samsung or others alike, beating them to it. This would be a beautiful product if Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive were to slam dunk this one… ;-)

Well here goes… “Pushing the repeat button”:

(A copy/paste of an earlier post made by me on numerous Apple-rumor sites)…

Quote start >

New Cinema Displays are so over due! I think that maybe a version or two of the coming Cinema Displays will have evolved into the new “iTV” or “AppleTv-NonHoppy”. You know… into an All-In-One box with the über-remote, which is “iPhone 2″

The iTV/AppleTV would have the full blown Leopard OS in its stomach and thus include Safari, iChat (Camera on front of naturally) and the regular gaming experience among other good things! The mouse of couse… would be the “iPhone 2″ (The new remote) …and as new patent´s show… The new game controller!!! Link: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/05/08/apple_developing_3d_gaming_controller_for_apple_tv.html

This would also help us get rid of the many ugly Set Top Boxes that clutters our TV environment.

Apple still have to make money. So the iPhone would not come bundled with the AppleTV as standard. You would have a simple (but improved) remote that comes with the system. Then buy an iPhone to extend and simplify your couch-surfing Nice to only have one remote on your table. So instead of the simple remote that came with the system, you now can replace it with the combatible “iPhone 2″ which would have the same functions build in.

Yep!, you would certaintly have to buy that on the side! My AAPL has to go up you know!

I would really like my TV to be Apple branded! It would be stylish! No doubt!

If this Scenario where to happen… companies like DELL and Microsoft would shit their pants!

PLEEEEEEEAAASE Apple!!! ;-)

What is so amazing about this? It’s a Mac that also plays TV shows? I don’t get it. Macs already do this.

This device offers nothing, repeat: NOTHING new. It’s a dumb looking iMac. Alternatively, it’s a dumb looking (and probably way overpriced) AppleTV.

How is this user typing into the browser? is there a keyboard connected to this? Mouse? If so, then once again…IT’S JUST AN IMAC.

I’m open to concepts, but this is just stupid.

I have digital cable with an all inclusive package, HD,DVR, everything. AND THE INTERFACE ABSOLUTELY SUCKS !!!!!! Apple should get their hands on that interface. They haven’t done it now. I don’t know anyone who uses their Apple as an exclusive TV set. They all have FLATSCREEN TV’S !!!! I think the interface concept is something that should be noticed here too. Keyboard is probably wireless, or they’re using an iPhone or iPod Touch !!!!!

I watched the video again just to make sure I wasn’t judging too harshly.

Nope. It’s still stupid. I guess it’s just an iMac with a built-in Elgato EyeTV. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. “Look at it beautifully browse Firefox with a sweet techno soundtrack…now…look at it beautifully browse iTunes with a sweet techno soundtrack…now…TV…with a sweet techno soundtrack.”

So stupid.

Ronald, while we appreciate your input. Please try to swear less. And by using all CAPS we are assuming you’re yelling. (just to let you know)

Where was the bluray player?

I’m pretty sure I just saw a spinning tour of OS X with “The Office” in the middle. And Firefox, for some reason.

Also, kudos on the all caps.

Blu-Ray player is in the dock at the bottom. At least I’m assuming that’s what it is. I mean, it looks like a loading cd tray. As for the all caps… you calling this so stupid got me heated.

As i see it, this isn’t a tv recorder, it’s an actual set-top box replacement, with blu-ray, real itunes, a slick interface, firefox, email integration. I mean, come on !

Exactly! it´s a TELEVISION-SET + all the functionalties of the full blown Mac OS X inside. Browsing would be done by the 3G iPhone as it will become the new mouse/remote.

If Charlie can´t se possibillities here… He´s nuts! ;-)

I’d buy one, or two, or three, and maybe buy one for the office, and maybe a smaller one for the kitchen, and maybe one for the bathroom actually, and my bedroom for sure, and the basement… oh yeah baby ! Every room in the house !
