I was watching the March 6th Apple iPhone SDK Event just moments ago, and thought I’d share something rather amusing. When Phil Schiller (Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing) takes the stage, part of his keynote speech includes a live demo of the iPhone’s upcoming Microsoft Exchange Support and features.
While Phil is demoing the new iPhone software, we get a glimpse of his iPhone’s calendar events on the big screen behind him.
We only see this for about 20 seconds or so. And you have to pay rather close attention to catch that the calendar event says “Rumors” at the end of it.
I don’t put it past Apple that they send out Rumors to confuse us. I can Apple as a company that likes throwing a wrench into the mill every once in a while. However, they should respect the Rumor Mill at the same time. Free marketing and continued buzz about a product or new service is priceless.
At the same time, it’s blatantly obvious that the “Brainstorm new Apple Rumors” event being programmed into Phil Schiller’s iPhone was planned. I take it as a simple bit of humor from our local computer shop.
The March 6th Apple iPhone SDK Event is here.

Just seeing this now? Must be a slow day in order to catch up on news that is two months old.

Hahaha
Slevin.
Definitely.. Although it’s old news, some people might not have seen or heard about it the first time they watched the video. Some people might not have even seen the event at all. It is pretty damn amusing though.

I honestly missed this completely. Didn’t even know about it until 30 minutes ago.

Jeff, I don’t think many people caught this the first time around. And if so, it didn’t get the proper laughs it deserved.
