Google Offers up New Youtube App for Mac Users

Google has recently released a new application to the “Google Mac Playground” called Vidnik, that allows users to easily capture video, trim the length, add titles and tags and upload it directly to Youtube.  Vidnik works directly with iSight but can also be used by external Firewire and USB video cameras.

Additionally, you have the flexibility to edit the video captured on Vidnik with other video editing software, as well as being able to drag movies from other applications into Vidnik to upload directly to Youtube.

Google Mac Team member, David Phillip Oster, has recently reported that while Vidnik is working great on Macs, when encoded by Youtube, the audio may be a fraction of a second behind the picture.  They assure us that they are currently working on correcting this problem.

You can check out Vidnik and other Google apps for Mac here.
