While the current online Apple store is no doubt a wonderful shopping experience, I think they can do better. The current store, as it stands is beautifully laid out, very speedy and responsive. Other distributors and brands should take a lesson in allowing their customers a great “shopping experience” when configuring their perfect computer build, picking some accessories and checking out with ease.
However, the store’s a little boring. I mean, why can’t I compare speed results within custom computer builds? Why can’t I interact with a salesperson at a local store…say through iChat ? Why can’t I visually browse around the store with a modified version of the engine that powers Google Street View ? This would allow me to personally interact and browse around Apple stores across the country with ease. Genius sessions could be done remotely, via a live internet connection (given the person who needs help can setup iChat).
These are all ideas that can be further expanded upon. What do you guys think about the currently online Apple Store ?
